Crowded House成立於1985年澳洲的夏天
團員們前往美國尋求發片的機會，但是當時團員們經濟拮据
必須合租一個公寓來節省開銷，因此也將團名取為"擠屋合唱團"
隔年就推出了首張同名專輯-「The Crowded House」
主打歌曲就是-「Don't Dream It's Over」
而這首歌也讓他們一曲成名，成績直衝全美排行榜亞軍
